Recipients of 2023 Alberta Beef Producers’ 4-H Scholarship announced

Alberta Beef Producers’ (ABP) 4-H Scholarships are awarded annually to six 4-H members who are past or present beef project members in Alberta for a minimum of three years.

According to 4-H Alberta, each of the 2023 recipients exhibited “outstanding community involvement, leadership skills, communication skills, and academic achievement.”

This years’ winners include:

• Jorja Werenka, of Evansburg, Alta;
• Larissa Mohler, of Strome, Alta;
• Lyndsey Peltzer, of Duchess, Alta;
• Erin Hughes, of Longview, Alta;
• Chelsey Mills, of Taber, Alta; and
• Daniel Schuepbach, of Claresholm, Alta.

As well, the 2022 recipients for the Elmer and Ona Hansen Memorial Fund Scholarship have also been announced. This scholarship program is open to all Alberta farm youth in their first year of post-secondary studies, with $80,000 in total awarded each year.

Winners of the award this year include:

• Kiley Sutter;
• Adysen Williams;
• Clare Taylor
• Anke-Marie Van Tryp;
• Samantha Horkoff;
• Emilie Andruik; and
• Ashton Penman.
