Nominations open for AFSC’s Women in Ag Award

Agriculture Financial Services Corporation (AFSC) has opened up nominations for the 2025 Women In Ag Award, a prestigious accolade recognizing the remarkable contributions of women in Alberta’s agriculture and agribusiness sectors. This award highlights the dedication, innovation , and leadership of women who are transforming the agricultural landscape.

The award categories include:

• The Promoter: Recognizes those advocating for a deeper understanding of agriculture through education and outreach.
• The Innovator: Celebrates creative solutions to economic, environmental, or social challenges in agriculture.
• The Community Builder: Honors individuals ho unite and strengthen Alberta’s agricultural communities.
• The Emergent/Rising Star: Highlights passionate leaders under 50 making significant strides in the industry.
• The Professional leader: Acknowledges lifelong leadership and advancement of women in agriculture.
• The Operator: Recognizes the backbone of primary agriculture and agribusiness.
• The Maverick: Celebrates those pushing boundaries and inspiring change.
• The Notable Lifetime Achiever: Honours a lifetime of leadership, mentorship, and industry impact.
• The Ignitor: Exclusively for AFSC employees, recognizing leaders driving progress within the organization.

Recipients are selected by a dedicated committee comprising AFSC representatives and partners from organizations such as 840 CFCW, Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies, and 4-H Alberta. The selection process ensures a fair and unbiased evaluation of nominations, with winners announced at the Notables Gala on March 16, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency in Calgary. Nominations close on January 6, 2025.
