4-H Alberta has announced that Arlene Good has been inducted into the 4-H Alberta Hall of Fame for 2024. This honour highlights Good’s significant contributions and leadership within the 4-H program, which have positively impacted numerous members and leaders throughout Alberta.
The 4-H Alberta Hall of Fame celebrates individuals who have shown exceptional dedication and leadership as volunteers within the 4-H community. Established in 1971 by Premier Lougheed, the Hall of Fame honours those who have made lasting contributions to the organization.
Arlene Good’s involvement with 4-H began in Saskatchewan as a member, and she later became a 4-H leader in Alberta. She has been a dedicated leader for the Brooks & Area and John Ware 4-H Beef Club, demonstrating her passion for rural youth development. Arlene has also led various programs, including the Newell District 4-H judging Club, sheep and dairy projects, and regional judging workshops. Her commitment to education is evident in the educational videos she creates, which have made learning more accessible for 4-H members across the province and beyond.
As the Chair of the Alberta Provincial Sheep Show and a key figure in Summer SYnergy, Good has played a crucial role in expanding these programs. Her efforts have fostered strategic dialogue, strengthened community bonds, and increased sponsorships and participation.
Christine Suominem, Chair of the 4-H Alberta Board, expressed the board’s admiration.
“The 4-H Alberta Board of Directors is excited to recognize Arlene for her significant contributions to the 4-H community by inducting her into the 4-H Alberta Hall of Fame. as a long-time leader in our organization, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to improving 4-H programs both locally and across the province.;
The 2024 Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place in November 2025 at the 4-H Centre, where Arlene Good’s remarkable achievements and contributions to the 4-H legacy in Alberta will be celebrated.
