Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) is pleased to welcome Debra Murphy and Lindsay Westren to the marketing and communications team, effective April 12 and 14, respectively.
Lindsay joins the team as the Marketing and Communications Manager, where she will be responsible for overseeing the ABP magazine and online platform. ABP’s marketing communications aim to increase brand recognition and build on Alberta Beef’s consumer and public loyalty, by enhancing the image of beef producers and the industry.
Westren is an experienced brand developer with a proven record of increased brand recognition and growth. She has an extensive background in agri-marketing with over seven years of experience, and a degree in communications from Mount Royal University. Lindsay has a passion for creative storytelling and all things agriculture, making her a natural fit for this role.
She will work closely with ABP’s marketing and communications agency, WS, and manage the editorial content specialist and field specialist positions.
Debra joins the team as the Editorial Content Specialist tasked with creating and curating meaningful content for the ABP magazine and online platform. With an extensive background in agriculture news media, she has significant experience developing relevant and engaging content for producer audiences.
Murphy grew up on a mixed farm in the Special Areas, where she first learned her love of the land, and has a degree in agriculture from the University of Alberta. She now ranches alongside her family in central Alberta, spending time handling cattle, writing and practicing photography.
“ABP is excited to have Lindsay and Debra join our team, and for the enthusiasm and creativity they will bring to these positions. We are looking forward to incorporating their expertise as we continue to develop our new communications initiatives,” said ABP General Manager Brad Dubeau.
