Albertan wins outstanding young Angus breeder

Forestburg, Alta., cattleman Ty Dietrich has been recognized as the 2025 Outstanding Young Angus Breeder, earning national recognition for his leadership, innovation, and commitment to advancing Red Angus genetics.

A key member of his family’s Redrich Farms, Dietrich has helped guide the operation’s growth and reputation within the seedstock sector. Since launching their independent annual bull and female sales, the farm has achieved steady increases in volume, average, and gross each year — a reflection of strong genetics, marketing, and customer trust.

Ty his wife Shania are raising three daughters, Rigley, Saylem, and Holland.

Multi-talented producer

Known for his sharp eye for cattle and forward-thinking approach, Dietrich has also expanded his influence beyond the farm through AgPlus Design & Photography, a business he owns after training in marketing, graphic design, and photography. His creative work supports producers and breed associations across Canada.

The 2025 Outstanding Young Angus Breeder Award recognizes Dietrich’s ongoing contributions to the Canadian beef industry and his role in strengthening the future of the Angus breed.
