A familiar face is taking up the federal agriculture portfolio as part of Wednesday’s cabinet shuffle.
Lawrence MacAulay was appointed Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, reprising the position he held from 2015-2019.
ABP would like to thank outgoing Minister of Agriculture Marie-Claude Bibeau for her dedication to Canadian agriculture, and to congratulate her on her appointment to Minister of National Revenue.
MacAulay, the longtime Member of Parliament for Cardigan, was born and raised on his family’s farm at Midgell, Prince Edward Island. Before entering politics, he raised dairy cattle and grew seed potatoes. MacAulay was the Minister of Veterans Affairs prior to this cabinet shuffle.
ABP would like to congratulate MacAulay on his appointment – we are looking forward to working with him on all files, and we are especially hopeful for an immediate assessment and fast decision regarding AgriRecovery.
