Producer feedback wanted on Sustainable Agriculture Strategy

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada is looking for producer input on the new Sustainable Agriculture Strategy.

This strategy will be a long-term plan “to further advance the sustainability, competitiveness, and vitality of Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector,” according to AAFC.

There are two ways you can share your thoughts on the Sustainable Agriculture Strategy:

1. Attend one of the four virtual, regional roundtables:

• British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Yukon: February 24,12-3 p.m. ET. English with French interpretation. RSVP here.
• Manitoba, Ontario, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut: March 10, 12-3 p.m. ET. English with French interpretation. RSVP here.
• Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador: March 20, 12-3 p.m. ET. English with French interpretation. RSVP here.
• National: March 24, 12-3 p.m. ET. French with English interpretation. RSVP here.

2.  Complete the online survey before March 31, 2023.

The producer feedback gathered during this consultation period will guide the next steps in developing and implementing the strategy. After public consultations conclude on March 31, producer outreach will continue on a regional basis throughout the year.
