Mary Robinson has been appointed as an independent senator in Prince Edward Island.
Robinson is recognized globally for the work she has done across the agricultural sector. Past President of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture, Robinson is a proud Atlantic Canadian. She currently serves as the Vice President of the World Farmers’ Organization and is a managing partner with the Robinson Group of companies, a 6th-generation farm in Prince Edward Island.
“Ms. Robinson’s experience in agriculture and business will bring an important perspective to the Senate, where she will be a strong voice for Atlantic Canada,” says Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. “I look forward to working with her to make life better for Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast.
Robinson is the 79th senator to be appointed on the advice of Prime Minister Trudeau.
