The Restaurant Gateway (available in English and French) is a new phase of the Canadian Beef Information Gateway. Launched in March, the online hub celebrates high-quality Canadian beef and features restaurants, videos from chefs and producers, and province-specific content.
The Restaurant Gateway also hosts the Best Canadian Beef Dishes Contest, which runs until November 30, 2025. The contest encourages diners, chefs, and restaurant owners to nominate their favourite beef dishes. One winning restaurant from each province/region will receive a $1,000 prize, with a national winner receiving $5,000. Diners who nominate a beef dish are entered to win a $200 prepaid gift card. Over 800 nominations were received during the first six weeks of the contest.
To promote the launch, Canada Beef executed a multi-channel strategy, including media outreach, which was picked up by 35+ outlets, netting an advertising value of $43,400. Social media influencer campaigns resulted in three million followers, 400,000 views, and 10,000+ people interacted with the content via likes, comments, or shares, and a live radio interview.
Marketing efforts included ads in Zoomer magazine and Restaurant Canada newsletters (over 1.4M reach) and a four-week transit campaign in Toronto, generating over 3 million impressions. Social media content from Dished, Date Night, and Canada Beef channels reached 150,000 people, with 250,000 video plays and 10,000+ engagements.
The Restaurant Gateway program offers a free restaurant window decal that will be distributed to 5,000 restaurants nationwide. These decals highlight the importance of supporting local restaurants and Canadian beef.
