Alltech Canada announced the recipients of its inaugural Planet of Plenty Awards this week, recognizing Shipwheel Cattle Feeders of Taber, Alberta, and Burnbrae Farms of Lyn, Ontario.
The Planet of Plenty Awards are designed to recognize those who contribute to nutritional and digital technologies, innovation, and sustainable management practices. Alberta’s Shipwheel Cattle Feeders is being awarded for their “unwavering dedication to their goal of continually improving their land base, the animals entrusted to their care and the community around them.”
Under the management of Andrea Stroeve-Sawa, Shipwheel Cattle Feeders Ltd. currently operates a yearling grazing program, feedlot, cropland, bees, compost, and some pasture-raised chickens. Stroeve-Sawa is committed to holistic management, following in her father’s footsteps of improving the health of the land, through Allan Savory’s methods, and a mindset that plants improve the quality and quantity of soil.
Shipwheel Cattle Feeders, along with Burnbrae Farms of Ontario, will be recognized and featured on May 25 at 11AM ET for the Awarding Sustainability workshop, at the Alltech ONE Ideas Conference.
