Last Call: ABP delegate nominations close November 15

With harvest wrapped up, another important deadline is quickly approaching: delegate nominations for Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) close on November 15.

ABP relies on its delegates to represent the voice of cattle producers across the province. Delegates bring forward ideas, concerns, and opportunities from their zones to help guide ABP’s programs, policies, and advocacy efforts.

“ABP’s strength comes from the producers who step up to represent their peers. Whether you’re a seasoned rancher or part of the next generation, your perspective helps keep Alberta’s beef sector responsive, resilient, and ready for what’s next,” says Doug Roxburgh, ABP Chair.

“If you’ve ever wondered how to make a difference in your industry, this is your chance.”

Who can run or nominate

Any beef producer 18 years or older who has paid check-off in the past two years, or represents someone who has, is eligible to run. Each nominee must be supported by a nominator from the same zone.

Why it matters

Delegates play a vital role in ensuring Alberta’s beef industry remains strong, united, and producer-driven. They attend zone and producer meetings, participate in committees, and stay informed on key issues — from market access and check-off investments to stewardship and competitiveness.

How to submit a nomination

Nomination forms and full eligibility details are available on the ABP website delegates page.

Forms must be signed by both the nominee and nominator, and submitted to the ABP office by end of day November 15.

Submissions can be sent by email, mail, or delivered in person.
