Farmfair kicks off in Edmonton

One of Alberta’s most anticipated agricultural showcases, Farmfair International, is officially underway this week at the Edmonton EXPO Centre, running November 5–8.

The annual event brings together producers, youth, and a range of attendees — including consumers — to celebrate the best of Alberta agriculture. Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) — once again serving as a major sponsor of Farmfair — will be front and centre throughout the event with engagement, education, and networking.

Alberta’s largest beef cattle show

For over 50 years, Farmfair has been a cornerstone of Canada’s agricultural scene and Alberta’s largest beef cattle show. Exhibitors from across Western Canada and around the world gather to showcase top livestock genetics to purebred producers, local ranchers, and international buyers.

The event fosters industry connections, promotes agricultural excellence, and celebrates the rich heritage of Canadian agriculture. It’s packed with exciting competitions, educational workshops, and a diverse marketplace featuring unique products and innovations.

ABP at Farmfair – A Few Highlights

ABP Booth
ABP is sharing a booth with Verified Beef Production Plus (VBP+) on-site throughout Farmfair, offering visitors a chance to connect directly with staff, delegates, and industry representatives. Producers are encouraged to stop by to say hello, share feedback, and learn more about current ABP/VBP+ initiatives.

Networking
ABP staff and delegates will be on hand at the booth and across the venue to connect with producers, answer questions, and share updates on all things ABP.

Cultivate Summit
ABP is participating in the Cultivate Youth Summit on Friday, Nov. 7 — an interactive education program designed to connect students and young Albertans with the province’s beef industry and the broader ag sector.

BBQ Demonstrations
On Saturday, Nov. 8, ABP joins Canada Beef and Motley Que for a series of live BBQ demonstrations, showcasing the flavour, quality, and versatility of Alberta beef. The demos are always a fan favourite — drawing crowds eager to learn about local production, beef preparation, and the story behind every cut.

Highlights include a Free Brisket Masterclass and Tasting offered in three sessions: 11:30-12:30, 1:00-2:00 and 2:30-3:30.

Social media engagement
Follow along with Alberta Beef Producers on social media for highlights throughout the week as we celebrate the people and progress that make Alberta agriculture world-class.
