The Premier’s Award, first presented in 1964, is 4-H Alberta’s highest honour, given annually to an Ambassador who exemplifies leadership, dedication, and service.
“Having experienced 4-H provincially, regionally, and at the district and club levels, I’ve seen its impact from every angle,” says Sweet. “It’s a welcoming environment where I can help younger members discover their love for the program.
“To me, 4-H is family, confidence-building and connection, not just projects or awards,” says Sweet. “This honour allows me to spread my enthusiasm for 4-H and showcase its countless benefits through community involvement.”
Sweet, 18, joined 4-H for the friendships but quickly found a lifelong passion for leadership and community involvement. She also received the Ted Youck Outstanding Achievement and Leadership in 4-H Alberta Award, presented by Ted and Leta Youck. She will represent Alberta at 4-H Canada’s Citizenship Congress in 2026.
Last fall, 4-H Alberta had also announced its incoming 2025–2026 Ambassadors, who will serve as youth leaders across seven regional teams. Ambassadors help grow 4-H in their regions by developing leadership opportunities, sharing their experiences, and representing members at local and provincial events.

Sydney Walsh, 4-H Alberta’s Summer Programs and Youth Development Coordinator, praised all applicants for their professionalism and enthusiasm. “Each applicant demonstrated a passion for 4-H and a drive for excellence,” she says. “We’re thrilled to welcome Isabella and the entire 2025–2026 Ambassador Team.”
