Plateau Cattle Co. was featured on Global News recently as part of Canada’s Agriculture Day celebrations.
The operation, run by John and Laura Laing, was Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) 2025 Environmental Stewardship Award (ESA) winner.

Plateau’s story is a strong reminder of the leadership and stewardship happening on ranches across Alberta — and why it’s so important to recognize it.
It’s also a good reminder that the nomination period for the next ESA Award is now open! If you know a producer or operation that goes above and beyond in environmental stewardship, we encourage you to submit a nomination.
