OFCAF funding intake open until Sept. 30 for Alberta prodcuers

Alberta producers have until Sept. 30 to apply for the current intake of the On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF), delivered in the province by Results Driven Agriculture Research (RDAR).

This intake covers two beneficial management practices: virtual fencing for rotational grazing, and soil testing and mapping for nitrogen management. RDAR says applications will be revied on a first-come, first-served basis, with eligible projects considered until available funding is allocated.

OFCAF helps producers adopt practices designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while supporting on-farm productivity and resilience. Funding is provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, with RDAR delivering the program in Alberta.

Applicants must be active Alberta producers with at least $25,000 in gross farm income. Projects must include at least 10,000 in eligible costs. Producers must also have a beneficial management practice action plan developed with a professional agrologist or certified crop advisor. Written pre-approval from DAR is required before project expenses can be claimed.

Applications must be submitted online through RDAR’s ARGO system. Producers can review the current intake, eligibility requirements, and application process before applying.
