Producers from across the province will gather in Red Deer on December 2–3 for Alberta Beef Producers’ 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Convention.
The AGM is an opportunity to hear updates on the work being done on behalf of producers, discuss issues affecting Alberta’s beef industry, and connect with delegates, staff, and industry partners from across the province.
Held at the Red Deer Resort & Casino, the two-day event will feature updates from ABP leadership and staff, discussions on industry priorities, and opportunities to network with fellow producers.
Whether you’re interested in policy, research, market development, or simply staying informed on issues affecting the sector, the AGM offers a chance to be part of the conversation.
For those unable to attend in person, the event will also be available online through DLMS, making it easy to participate from the ranch, the office, or wherever the day takes you.
Elections: Eligible cattle producers may run for a position as a Canadian Cattle Association (CCA) board member or Beef Cattle Research Council (BCRC) representative. Sitting ABP delegates are also eligible to run for the ABP board of directors.
On Oct. 30, 2026, the ABP Board of Directors approved a pilot project for the 2026 CCA election process. Under the pilot, all CCA board positions will be open to eligible cattle producers, as defined by the ABP Plan Regulation and ABP Bylaws. Previously, a minimum of four of ABP’s CCA board positions were required tobe filled by sitting delegates.
