Add ABP Daily to your list of mobile apps

In 2023, Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) combined the goals behind a dedicated ABP Daily app and an accessible website and began focusing on a mobile-friendly website capable of being added to a user’s list of mobile apps.

“We realized this route was more effective and functional for our purposes. It helps streamline workflow in maintenance and updates,” says Debra Murphy, Stakeholder Relations Manager, ABP. “By focusing on a mobile-friendly website, we are able to save money and resources, and offer better programming to the cattle community.”

Benefits of a Mobile-Friendly Website

There are numerous benefits to a mobile-friendly website (even beyond that you don’t have to scroll back-and-forth to read text). Mobile-friendly sites can:

  • increase accessibility to any device;
  • reach a wider audiences;
  • streamline the user’s experience across devices;
  • improve mobile conversion rate;
  • increase a site’s ranking in search engine results; and
  • increase credibility and trustworthiness of a brand.

“We are always looking for ways to improve ABP Daily and provide more value to Alberta’s cattle producers,” says Murphy. “We welcome suggestions and feedback through our websites, via email, or on social media.”

How to Download ABP Daily to Mobile Devices

Downloading the website to your mobile devices is a simple and convenient way to access the content offline or when you have a poor internet connection. You can also save the website as an app icon on your home screen for easy access. Here are the steps to download the website to different platforms:

  • Android: Open the browser on your phone and visit the website. Tap the menu button next to the address bar or at the bottom of your browser. Select ‘Install’ or ‘Add to Homescreen’ to save the website as an app icon on your home screen. You can also save a webpage as a PDF by tapping the menu button, selecting ‘Share’, and choosing ‘Print’. Then, select ‘Save as PDF’ and choose a location to save the file.
  • iOS: Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad and visit the website. Tap the Action button (the square button with the arrow) at the bottom of the screen. Select ‘Add to Reading List’ to save the webpage for offline reading. You can also select ‘Add to Home Screen’ to save the website as an app icon on your home screen. To save a webpage as a PDF, tap the Action button and select ‘Print’. Then, pinch to zoom out on the preview and tap the Share button. Choose ‘Save to Files’ or ‘Copy to Books’ to save the file.
