As the Government of Canada prepares to release Budget 2021, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Chrystia Freeland launched pre-budget consultations to hear from Canadians. The CCA submitted a set of recommendations focusing on the beef sector’s economic growth potential and the ability to enhance meaningful environmental outcomes and what domestic supports are needed to get there.
As part of this pre-budget consultation, CCA President, Bob Lowe, participated in a Calgary Chamber of Commerce roundtable where he was able to share CCA recommendations with Minister Jim Carr. The full set of recommendations in the pre-budget submission can be viewed here. If you’d like to learn more about how CCA communicates its priorities to the government, contact Fawn Jackson or Lauren Martin.
