Alberta government seeks to recognize outstanding volunteers

The Alberta provincial government is on a mission to honour those who have made a positive difference in their communities through their unwavering volunteer efforts.

The Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards program, now in its 24th year, celebrates outstanding individuals who exemplify the spirit of community service and inspire others to engage in volunteerism.

Nominations for the Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards are currently open. If you know someone who goes above and beyond to make a difference, this is your change to recognize their contributions.

Eligibility criteria:

• Nominees must be residents of Alberta at the time of nomination.
• Volunteer activities of a political nature will not be considered during adjudication.
• Immediate family members cannot nominate each other.
• Only the first nomination received per nominee will be accepted.
• References must include personal contact information in their reference letters.

Nominators can fill out a nomination form available on the Government of Alberta website. The awards ceremony will take place in December, celebrating the exceptional volunteers who have made a significant impact.
