Do More Ag names Merle Massie as Executive Director

The Do More Agriculture Foundation (DMAF), an advocate for mental health in the agricultural sector, has announced the appointment of Merle Massie as its new Executive Director.

Massie brings a wealth of experience from her tenure at the Canadian Centre for Rural and Agricultural Health. As a dedicated grain farmer at Massie Panoramic Farms in west-central Saskatchewan, she offers a unique blend of personal and professional insights, making her an ideal leader for DMAF’s mission to enhance mental well-being among Canadian farmers.

Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Massie explains she’s been a passionate support of Do More Ag since its inception.

“Understanding the mental health challenges in rural areas firsthand, I am thrilled to lead this organization and continue its journey towards better mental health across the Canadian agriculture industry,” she explains.

Massie is not only a distinguished researcher and author, but also a community advocate. Her vision as Executive Director is to ensure that DMAF continues to foster an environment where mental health is prioritized and normalized within the agricultural community.

Lauren Martin, chair of the Board at DMAF, says that Massie’s “professional expertise and dedication to our cause will usher in a new era of impact, furthering the mental health of our agricultural community.”

This leadership transition follows the tenure of former Executive Director Megz Reynolds, under whose guidance DMAF made significant strides in building partnership and raising mental health awareness.
