The James Hargrave Legacy Foundation is accepting applications for its award established in memory of James Hargrave.
James Hargrave was a young rancher, and leader in the cattle industry. In addition to his role as Chairman of the Alberta Grazing Leaseholders Association, Vice President of the Western Stock Growers’ Association (WSGA), and volunteer firefighter for his community, James Hargrave was also actively involved with Alberta Beef Producers (ABP).
The Foundation awards recipients whose work in the beef and grazing industry exemplifies James Hargrave’s philosophies.
“Our vision is that the James Hargrave Legacy Fund will encourage and enable individuals in the beef industry to carry on the values, leadership and philosophy that James embodied. The fund seeks to support and promote advances and innovations in the beef industry especially in fields of interest for which James had a passion: grasslands stewardship and conservation, water conservation, and work done to progress a marketplace for ecosystem goods and services – as well as knowledge transfer on any of these topics.”
The deadline to apply is October 15. Anyone interested in applying is encouraged to check out the website or contact Lindsye Dunbar at 403-250-9121 for more information.
