The Alberta beef industry is keen to dive into results of a competitiveness study initiated last year.
Alberta Beef Producers, Alberta Cattle Feeders’ Association, and Canadian Cattle Association are collaborating to share the results of the Alberta Beef Competitiveness Study, now available.
The Alberta Beef Competitiveness Study has three key components. First, it identifies barriers to entry and expansion for the packing sector. Second, it considers price transparency in Canadian boxed beef prices. And finally, it provides a literature review of the price discovery conversations around fed cattle in North America, including an evaluation of U.S. proposals in the Canadian context.
