Congratulations to new board chair appointed to AFSC

Alberta Beef Producers’ (ABP) Board of Directors would like to congratulate Past Chair Kelly Smith-Fraser on her recent appointment to Chair of Agriculture Financial Services Corporation’s (AFSC) Board of Directors.

Based near Pine Lake, Alberta, Smith-Fraser operates NuHaven Cattle Co. She has years of experience on boards, including her current role as Past Chair of the Alberta Beef Producers.

“Kelly Smith-Fraser is well-known in Alberta’s agriculture industry as a smart, driven leader. She’ll provide the leadership AFSC requires to meet our farmers’ and ranchers’ needs, which is more important now than ever.”

Agriculture and Forestry Minister Devin Dreeshen

In addition to serving as Chair, Smith-Fraser also worked as an ABP delegate, zone director, Finance Chair, and Vice Chair. She’s a director of the Canadian Cattlemen’s Foundation, and was also appointed to the interim board of Results Driven Agriculture Research (RDAR).

“It’s an exciting time in the agriculture industry, especially in Alberta. I look forward to helping AFSC find even more ways to support our farmers, ranchers and agribusiness entrepreneurs.”
