RealAgriculture by Kara Oosterhuis
March 8th is International Women’s Day and here at RealAgriculture we decided to feature some Canadian women in agriculture, for their drive and passion for the industry, and to highlight the trails they have blazed throughout their careers.
Of course, there are not enough hours in the day to highlight every single terrific woman out there, but as an ag media broadcaster myself— I wanted to highlight one of my personal inspirations: Dianne Finstad.
Finstad, a communications and ag media guru from my home province of Alberta, is known for her career spent in ag media. Starting out as an agriculture reporter in the early ’80s, and later becoming a well-known rodeo reporter, Finstad is no stranger to the industry. She’s reported for the Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR), as well as the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in Las Vegas, and has connected many around the world with her passion on the rodeo circuit.
