If you’re looking for new hires in Alberta, you may be eligible for funding to support their salary or training costs.
In an effort to get Albertans back to work, a federal-provincial investment is providing $370 million to help businesses hire and train unemployed or underemployed Albertans as part of the Alberta Jobs Now program.
Private sector businesses, as well as non-profit organizations can apply for grants to offset salary or training costs, or both, equal to 25% of the new hire’s salary (up to $25,000 per employee) or 37.5% of the new hire’s salary for an employee with a disability (up to $37,500 per employee).
There will be three intakes for applications:
To be eligible, an organization must be a private business or partnership, sole proprietorship, or non-profit organization, and be hiring for a position of at least 52 weeks.
For more information on the program (including eligibility requirements of both employers and employees), check out: Alberta Jobs Now program | Alberta.ca, and read the Alberta Jobs Now Program Application Guidelines.
