One of Alberta Beef Producers’ core strategies is to enhance the competitiveness of Alberta cattle operations through research and innovation.
All research funding decisions are made by producers, for producers, and it only reaches its full value to producers when it is shared.
One way you can immerse yourself in the research is by joining us at the Beef Research Showcase — held at Olds, AB, on March 11, 2024, with a virtual option as well.
“ABP is excited to highlight some of the great research that is supported by producer check-off dollars and contributes to the profitability, sustainability, and competitiveness of the beef industry,” says Craig Lehr, ABP Research Committee Chair. “The Beef Research Showcase will be incredibly useful for producers and their operations.”
Research is supported in the areas of animal health and welfare, forage and grassland productivity, feed grains and feed efficiency, beef quality, food safety, environment, and knowledge translation and transfer. Specific priorities in these areas are guided by the Five-Year Canadian Beef Research and Technology Transfer Strategy, which ABP helped to develop.
ABP is currently funding 41 active projects. You can find the project summaries of completed and ongoing projects, here.
